Burgan Bank Participates in the Graduation Ceremony of the Kuwaiti Graduates Development Program

In support of advancing the national competencies under Kafa’a Initiative

Burgan Bank recently took part in the graduation ceremony for the participants in the Kuwaiti Graduates Development Program (KGDP), organized by the Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies (IBS). The ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Refai, the Director General of IBS, and Mr. Raed Abdullah Al-Haqhaq, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer & CEO - Kuwait at Burgan Bank - in addition to representatives from Burgan Bank and other local banks, as well as many leaders of Kuwait’s banking and finance sectors.

The graduates have successfully completed the IBS training program that is part of Kafa’a Initiative launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) in cooperation with Kuwaiti banks. Kafa’a features various programs designed to enhance the expertise of the banking sector’s local workforce, and broaden their knowledge base in order to develop and advance the country’s banking and finance sectors.

On this occasion, Mr. Raed Abdullah Al-Haqhaq, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer & CEO - Kuwait at Burgan Bank, declared “The Kuwaiti Graduates Development Program is a great learning opportunity for fresh graduates who are starting their professional careers in banking. Spearheaded by the Institute of Banking Studies, one of the most specialized educational institutions in the banking industry, programs such as this also provide the local banks with sound professional foundations that allow them to cater to the needs of the market.”

Mr. Raed, further added “At Burgan Bank, we are committed to aligning our human capital focused strategies with those of the Central Bank of Kuwait and its vision for the sector. That is why we continue to work on upskilling our local talented employees through various learning and development initiatives such as Burgan’s dynamic Ro2ya program, focusing on our highflyers, and the Entelaqah program, for our freshly recruited bankers”.

Two Burgan Bank employees, Mr. Mustafa Saheb Shuker and Mrs. Ghadeer Hamdi Al-Otaibi, had successfully completed the training program and received the program certification. With high-level certified training of this caliber, both graduates take with them a wealth of new ideas and practical experience, which not only serves to promote their own professional development but also enables them to actively contribute to the innovation and growth at the Bank.

Burgan Bank supports all of CBK’s initiatives that aim at qualifying the best national competencies for working in the banking industry and becoming the future sector leaders.
