Bella Hadid is Sending a Message to her Followers by Urging Them to Donate to People in Need

Bella Hadid has urged her 47.8 million Instagram followers to donate to the city's food banks. The part-Palestinian model turned to Instagram to share a carousel of photos from a soup kitchen volunteer.

“I want to send a big shout out to Miss Chef Sherri. A powerhouse and angel sent from heaven. She has whipped up thousands of hot and fresh meals, all with the most beautiful smile on her face. A real legend to me… Thank you Chef Sherri, you are an inspiration♥️. @foodbank4nyc has been a long time friend and an org that I highly respect and will always support. Although our #5BoroughChallenge — ((a friendly competition to see which borough can raise the most meals for their neighbors in need)) is still happening right now, I believe we’ve gotta stick together, no matter what borough you’re in. Even though over the years I have been the Manhattan advocate for FBNYC, this Thanksgiving we went and hung out in the Bronx and served up some of Chef Sherri’s epic meals to anyone who was hungry! (Btw…. I gotta say …. There’s no drip like the Bronx drip!!! Cc @renellaice)” she wrote on her Instagram.

She continued by saying: “Help me by spreading the word about @foodbanknyc. They are always updating their socials with different ways that you can help. Whether it’s for food distribution, toy drives, Coat drives w @onewarmcoat, or showing up to lend your energy and time …”

She also invited supporters to donate to the Food Bank of NYC to help provide meals for the city's poor throughout the holiday season, in a long letter. Chef Sherri, who prepares hundreds of cooked meals for the food bank, is described by Hadid as "a powerhouse and angel sent from heaven."

The 25-year-old is one of a slew of New York celebs participating in the food bank's 5 Borough Challenge, a social media and crowdfunding effort aimed at raising funds to distribute 1 million meals to New Yorkers in need by the end of the year.

Since she first discovered food distribution in Los Angeles, Hadid, who is the daughter of Palestinian real estate magnate Mohamed Hadid and Dutch reality television star Yolanda Hadid, has found satisfaction in helping at kitchens and providing food to the less fortunate.

"Every Thursday, we'd create hundreds of plates, and (before COVID), we could all sit down and break bread together, no matter who we were or where we came from," she added.

"Remember, money, a meal, or even a smile may make a difference in your town/city." There's a lot for all of us to accomplish, especially now that winter is approaching."
