Burgan Bank Concludes its First Padel Tournament Following Diverse Participation

As part of its social responsibility and a major milestone in the Bank’s sports program

Burgan Bank has concluded its first ever Padel Tournament, which took place at El Padel Academy on November 3 over the course of three excitement-filled days. A total of 192 groups took part in the tournament, spanning seven categories for over 50 men, pros and amateurs, men and women, under the age of 16.

The tournament was an exceptional event and a unique experience, for the participants, the attendees and their families, thanks to the excellent planning and execution of the Burgan Bank Team.

After fierce competition, the following winners were crowned:

- Over 50 Men Category:
 1st place: Ahcene Bouzidani and Mohamed Mahmoudi
 2nd place: Yousif Albehbehani and Emad Dashti

- Under 16 Girls Category:
 1st place: Mona Alhaddad and Rayan Al Hajeri
 2nd place: Lulu Al Sabah and Fayza Al Ghanim

- Under 16 Boys Category:
 1st place: Abdulaziz Al Suraye and Khaled Al Shaya
 2nd place: Mark Menotti and Yousef Al Anqawi

- Amateur Women’s Category:
 1st place: Noor Hassan and Dhay Al Hajri
 2nd place: Muneera Hamadah and Razan Al Hajri

- Amateur Men’s Category:
 1st place: Fahad Bastaki and Nasser al Obaidly
 2nd place: Mishaal Al Duaij and Mohammad Al Mazeedi

- Pro Women’s Category:
 1st place: Iman Metwally and Elena Bestante
 2nd place: Dana Al Fulaij and Mariam Siraj

- Pro Men Category:
 1st place: Abdulrahman Al Awathi and Rodrigo Santin
 2nd place: Ali Hayat and Uri Mananes

Additionally, the 28 winners received cash prizes and medals of appreciation at the end of the tournament. 
Speaking at the closing event, Kholoud Rida AlFeeli, Group Head-Corporate Communications at Burgan Bank said: “At Burgan Bank, we were keen to make the tournament open to all groups, as it is truly a major milestone in our own sports program and an impressive addition to the activities of Kuwait’s banking sector. The competition came as part of our comprehensive social responsibility program that invests heavily in sports. Organizing this tournament also reflects our strong belief in keeping people and our community at the heart of everything that we do, in line with our “Driven by you” philosophy.”

“Our goal with this initiative was to promote the culture of sports and its positive impact on society, especially youth. Our younger generations are the most capable in making the positive change that we seek,” AlFeeli said.

AlFeeli further added that, “We were pleased with the impressive turnout and the large number of participants, who all showed outstanding performance and exceptional sportsmanship. We congratulate the top winners, all of whom earned their victories and proved themselves to be worthy sportsmen and sportswomen. In the end, the tournament was an engaging and thrilling event, due to both the professional-level scale of it and the current popularity of padel within our community. We hope to see the wave of positive change that started at this event growing and continuing with other events all over Kuwait”.
