Burgan Bank Celebrates the Graduation of Retail Academy Trainees

As part of its long-term strategy for empowering its human resources and developing their competencies and skills

Burgan Bank recently celebrated the graduation of a new batch of its employee trainees from the Burgan Retail Academy. The new batch of trainees completed two practical training programs, Customer Service Officers and Customer Relationship Officers, whereby both programs covered a number of important training modules in specific areas of banking customer service. This training initiative comes as part of Burgan Bank’s ongoing efforts to empower employees to advance in their professional careers in and beyond the Bank – with the help of both academic and practical development opportunities.

This batch’s trainees, all 14 of them, were able to receive professional practical training on the most important skills that are necessary for retail banking professionals; delivered through a best-in-class advanced training curriculum. Five trainees successfully completed the two-week Customer Service Officers program, while nine others successfully completed the three-week Customer Relationship Officers program. Across both programs, all the trainees within this batch of the Retail Academy umbrella benefited from a reinforced skill, behavioral, and knowledge base set to enable them to analyze, understand, and address customer needs better and more efficiently. The programs also sought to improve the employees’ communication skills and elevate the level and quality of their interactions with customers. At the end of the program, the trainees presented their graduation projects, which the Academy’s board made sure were practically applicable in their careers.

On this matter, Ms. Siham Al Khorayef, Senior Specialist – Learning and Talent Development at Burgan Bank, said: “We are keen to acquire the best talents that the Kuwaiti market has to offer; promising individuals in which we see a reflection of our corporate culture and the ability to carry out our Bank’s ambitious development plans. This stems from our belief that functional skills are easy to achieve compared to behavioral skills – as the latter are considered crucial and can have a significant impact on team synergies and the ability of an organization to collectively drive towards success. That is why we are putting greater emphasis on the behavioral aspects in the Academy’s training curriculum. After all, we are in a customer service industry”

She added: “On behalf of Burgan Bank's management, I would like to congratulate all the graduates, and we look forward to witnessing the successes they accomplish - from which they can set off to greater yet achievements that reflect growth and development on their professional paths.”

Through its internal and external programs and initiatives, Burgan Bank seeks to support young local talents and develop Kuwait’s pool of human capital. The Bank also strives to embrace top competencies that are capable of reinforcing the Bank’s culture and values. Moreover, Burgan Bank continues, through its training programs and events, to prepare young Kuwaiti talents to occupy leadership positions in the banking sector in the future, helping play an active role in driving the local economy’s growth and development.
